Snow Day

I took a snow day!!!  Wednesday I was driving to work and hearing the storm over night was going to be sleet and freezing rain.  Oh joy!  Yes it is February and yes snow and sleet happen.  But it doesn't mean I have to like it.  Plus I have been so tired and this was to be the fourth 12 ish hour day in a row.  As I drove down the country road and was looking at the farmland on either side a thought dawned on me "What about taking the day off?"  Of course it was immediately followed by the list of everything I need to get done especially since I am going away in a month.  Back and forth the thoughts flew in my head.  The one thing I kept coming back to was the ability to sleep in.  

I talked with co-workers about the thought of taking the laptop home, staying home and working from there.  Pretty soon it was firmed up.  After another late meeting, I gathered the laptop some file folders and my ever present notebook and went home. 

 I never told Joe I was taking the day.  He never noticed the alarm never went off.  I slept until 10am and then got a cup and tea and sat on the couch.  Throughout the day my tea cup was filled and emptied.  But my place on the couch was never empty for long.  I say there with the laptop, in my pajamas and watched the world outside.  So work today and then another day off.  I better be careful or I will get to liking two days off a week.
