My silverware drawer

My silverware drawer

My silverware drawer is a statement to the progression of Joe's Alzheimer’s.    For decades it was divided in what I think is a fairly common theme.   Large forks in front salad forks behind.   We have two different patterns of teaspoons so one of the left and one on the right.  Behind ice tea spoons and tablespoons.   You get the picture.  Right now all I know is forks are together and spoons are together.    The order, the size, the pattern is complete chaos.   Teaspoons and tablespoons now share a space.   Shark knives and butter knives live together.

In this I have learned to open the drawer wide and quietly move things back to position.   If I’m too loud he wonders what I am doing.   I thought I was doing okay until tonight when I opened the snack cabinet and Tupperware fell out.
