I love my community

I love my community

Usually Joe and my Mom go to the 8 am Mass while I go to set up for programming.   Being the Ming weekend and no classes we went to the 10 am Mass.   John who has Parkinson’s stood up and started talking to Joe saying how glad he was to see him.   I had to tell Joe that John was saying Hello and then Joe shook his hand as John kept talking to him.   Joe went a few pews back when another Joe stood and welcomed him.
Soon after David came Into the pew with his two little girls.   Hannah came over and crawled up in my lap while telling me what Momma had done.   Her sister showed us her Koala and he pretty dress.    Joe loves seeing the little girls.   At one point he reached over and rubbed Hannah’s arm while laughing.

At the end of Mass Roger came up and was talking to Joe and Father asked him how life was.   Once again or should I say over and over, I am witnessing the love of a community who gather around when times are tough.

I know so many of my students say I pray to God so why do I need to go to Church.   And once again I witness the complete love and acceptance of a faith community while knowing life isn’t perfect.    And once again I am so thankful for the gift of faith.   And once again I am so grateful for our faith community.
