I'll miss this???

I have been tired recently so came home early. I sat out on the deck and Joe decides to join me. While there he starts to tweet and whistle with the birds around. He marvels at a squirrel running through the yard and needs to tell me where the squirrel is going. His attention is then captured by the plane flying overhead.

Today I just want to sit quietly and rest. I don’t want a play by play of the activity of our backyard. However, I wonder. Is this like time past with my kids? Will I look back and regret not wanting to marvel with him? I look back at times with the kids I was so tired or balancing so much, I didn’t appreciate the moment.

I will try to appreciate the moments we have, his love of nature and his enjoyment of the wildlife in our backyard. I move so fast and balance so much, I haven’t marveled in a long time. #earlyonsetalz #alz #caregivers #faith #catholic
