Don't leave us again

Tonight I told my mom I had been invited to Mary’s in Florida in January. Her immediate reply was “Don’t leave us again”. It’s been twenty months since I have been away but I understand completely.

Since Joe’s diagnosis my mom has been my number two. So many family members especially near walked away. But she always stayed. I was told to ask for help and not have my mom in the middle. My mom and her request for help for Joe and I was respectfully denied by others.

I completely understand why my mom at 77 can’t take care of Joe for a week. But it hurts so bad those family that walked away.
