Blood is thicker...that's crap
Kate called tonight as she drove home from work. She has a commute of an hour and a half. She is exhausted and wants to talk as she drives. As she went she started to talk about feeling very angry at some family members. "I don't know what it came up today, but I am really struggling", she said. Why is it they walked away? Why is it they don't check in and see how Dad is? Why is it your mom is the one to take care of Dad all the time and none of them? I know it is Grandma, Eric and you who struggle with this, but you the most of all.
I have no answers. I struggle with active anger myself with some people. She cried over people saying blood is thicker than water but that really isn't true. We talked about all the people at church who are supporting our family. Some are cooking for us, some are praying for us, and so many have offered help. Each and everyone of those has meant so incredibly much to me.
Still, it is a struggle to deal with the anger of those you are related to and who have let you down so completely. As we talked we discussed sometimes family is what you build rather than who you are related to.
However at the end of the day, she is my girl, always and forever no matter what! #bloodthickerwater #earlyonsetalz #alz #caregivers #faith #catholic
