Tripping on words
Today I had three calls with caregiver organizations. It’s hard to have these calls, tell my story, what I need and know how young my husband is for these services.
One of the calls though made me laugh. I spoke to Toby and he and I have the same trouble of tripping over our words. At one point Tony grasped that I was calling for my husband. He told me his wife always told him to read all the words but you know...husbands. So he asked me why Joe needed care and I told him advancing Alzheimer’s. He said “I am so sorry, wait, not that he is your husband, what I mean is...”. I just started to laugh. He told me sometimes the only thing he felt he could do to help was just pray and he would willing do that. I knew then I found a good place. And he followed up with “Thank God this call isn’t being monitored for training purposes”. Gotta love the people God puts in your path.
