New Hobbies

I FaceTimed one of our students today who is struggling in the pandemic.   She is stuck at home and bored.   She feels trapped.   I asked her what new hobby she has started or what book she planned to write.   So threw it back at me and asked the same.   At the time all I thought of was well I’m now addicted to Jewel Hunter.  

In thinking about it, I realize it is more than that.   I joke that my title of Director of Student Ministries has been changed to Director of Social Media.   All joking aside, I am learning.   I am learning  new ways to post information.   I am learning not only how to make iMovies but also how to edit them.  I am learning new ways of keeping in touch with not only staff but also our kids.  I am learning.  

In the moment I had no answer to the question.   Upon introspection, I realize I am adapting and learning and changing to this new world.   It’s a great feeling.
