I am Woman...
Ever have a moment when something just clicks and you wonder why it took so long? This morning I ran down to put something away in the garage. I had a vague recollection the garage was not as full as when the kids were little and there was more space. When I got back upstairs I looked at the thermometer outside to see how cold it was and noticed our neighbors car in his not quite done new garage. I stood their grumbling that even without being finished his car in the garage had no frost to scrap off of it.
I took a few steps and bam...it hit me. You know one plus one and two plus two. Or a not full garage might mean???? Yup that’s it. A garage that might actually be able to park a car. I thought I’d get on this this coming long weekend.
Joe had the weather on promising colder temps ahead and a possibility or s**w on Friday. As the van picked up Joe, I looked at the clock and realized now is the time.
I spent less than an hour. I stacked things. I moved empty college totes and coolers from the beach to where they should be. I put the snowblower by the door, maneuvered the rider mower to the front, swept the garage. I remembered the garage door is testy so googles how to fix the tension. A screwdriver and a slight turn followed. And then the moment of truth. I pulled my car in and closed the garage door. Not only did the car fit the door went down and stayed down.
No more having to scrap the windows in the morning. No more unburying the car in the driveway. I am woman. I am strong. I just need to know I can do it.
