Counting My Blessings

Counting My Blessings

Every Sunday after the 10am Mass the parish staff don masks and gloves and head out to the parking lot.  Once there we get to greet our parishioners as the come to the drive through blessing.   No none of us ever thought this would be the way to minister.  But yet it always brings joy to my heart.   The people, the faces I have missed desperately come through one after another laughing and waving.  We laugh and we wave just at the simple sight of them.

As a staff we have participated in drive by birthday parades.   On Fridaywe had the Decision Day parade for all of our high school seniors to let us know where they are going.  They came through with their cars decorate with where they are going and for some what they are studying.   They stopped by Father and he had a prayer cloth and asked where they were going.   Each and everyone had this big smile on their face.  They were laughing and waving.   They have lost so much with this pandemic.   Yet to watch them Friday they has such joy.

Things like this bring my heart joy.
