Blessed with great friends

It is only days before I am headed to Ireland to see Liz get her white coat.  This is the first major event in our kids lives that I will be the only one attending.  Joe and I were always there together.  We were always there to support our kids.  This is just another sign in our changing world.  In this though I can see how blessed we are with amazing friends.  

In both my jobs I have had questions and concern and problem solving about the trip.  Advise has been given on how to talk to Joe about the trip.  Some of come and talked to me about getting to the airport.  All have asked about Joe and what the plans are for him.  Some have said to pass their number along to my mom or Eric in case anything happens.  Some have said they will be there should mom or Eric need help.

In the midst of actively watching Joe slip from me, I am so grateful and blessed to know we are surrounded by the most amazing people.  There are so many people who can help us, love us, care for us.  It helps me cope and to deal with our now.  At times I feel our now is the "Twilight Zone" but with friends like we have at least we won't go flying off into space to never be seen again.
