So lucky
Today was such a long day. There were classes, meetings, pageant rehearsal, youth group, Mass and more class. There are some in the older grades who purposely push my buttons. Put the phone away is met with this God awful sigh as if I am condemning them for life. Saying be quiet when showing them a video is met with derision. But then a short flicker of spark repeatedly in the classroom when we start to make progress and have a discussion.
It’s hard to end such a busy day this way. I have a few that push me and love to do so. What I need to focus on is all the amazing that happened before this.
Just in stream of thought not chronologically, at Christmas pageant rehearsal I had two teens I asked if they sang. One told me she had been told by a teacher she sang too loud and was too ahead of her class so she wasn’t comfortable singing in front of a group. We sat in the first pew at Mass. At the end of Mass Kathy one of the adult singers came to Julia and asked if she would consider joining them to sing. Chris our music director came over to listen. Both of them praised Julia and encouraged her to join. As I was driving home tonight and struggling this was nowhere on my mind.
Julia and her sister were at middle School youth group when we went to help keep the littles in control. Well their neighbor is directing the show and was so happy to see them and for their help.
A student who has been busy and not in the program came back today. She not only came to class she also volunteered with our littles in Preschool .
Some who are really challenging me went to breakfast at a local place yesterday. Someone there paid their bill. Instead of sliding out with their cash in hand they paid it forward. They paid for breakfast for a few other tables. Later they found out one table was celebrating the 85th birthday of the man with them. They also went on to leave their waitress an amazing tip. These are kids who push me and challenge me. Yet they lived the faith they have been taught without even realizing it.
There is so much to be in awe of. There are times that are tough and I am outright challenged. What I need To always sit back and store up on are all of the amazing fantastic God influences moments. I need to keep these at the forefront of my mind instead of the challenges. All I am instructed to do is plant a seed of faith to the best of my ability. After that I pray it is watered and nurtured and come to fruition.
