Realization
Last week we as a staff started visiting parishioners who are not comfortable coming back to Mass. As a staff we load into the car and head off for the three or four we will see this week. Father T brings the Eucharist and we add a little treat to it.
This was only our second week. But I cannot express how it fills my heart. Naturally we are visiting our older parishioners. We are visiting those who had been very active in the parish but due to the pandemic are staying home to remain safe.
After two weeks and only seven visits I have a few observations. How is it we have a generation that completely in love with their faith, with the joy of the Eucharist? How can we carry this down a few generations? How can we share the pure love of Jesus to people?
I have no answers but this afternoon I had some great conversation. I talked with two teens one 13 and one 18. Together with our Deacon we spoke of their questions on faith. We spoke of what made impacts on their faith journeys. We spoke of what we as Catholics do what we do. It was an amazing few hours.
I am blessed to be a part of this parish. I am blessed and in awe of the faith of those whose homes we have visited. I am blessed to talk to our teens and understand their questions. Moving forward I want to capture the live of faith of our older generation with the questioning of our younger generation. May God guide me and all I work with.
