My Mind is Racing
My mind is racing tonight. Is was day two of our middle school program. My brother and brother in law have come to stay with Joe while I go to be with my kids. And then there’s the time with my kids.
I am continually amazed I have the job to be in their lives and work with them. We have painted, weeded, cleaned, played games and had church tours so far. I have been an open object of young teen eye rolls and laughter. I never know what anyone of them will say. And sometimes I don’t know whether to laugh or cringe.
Yet, I am so thankful to be in their life and watch them all grow. I love when they tease me, when they make me laugh, when they listen to me in a serious faith conversation. I love to love them.
On the other side, I realize the sacrifice of my brother and brother in law to let me be present this week. My brother said to let him know when to be at my house so I could go. He followed with “But that is the butt crack of dawn!!!” But still they are here to take care of Joe and let me love my kids. As hard as it is some days, God has blessed me so much. So here is to the next three days with our middle schoolers!!!!
