Hey!!!

Hey!!!

Recently Deacon C, Shelly and I went for a walk.   As we passed a house there was some street noise but also a distinct “Hey Miss Mary”.   At first I couldn’t find the voice.  I was looking around and trying to see who was calling.

As we turned the corner Shelly located the voice.   There in an upstairs window stood Callnan one of my preschoolers.    Now to know Callnan, you have to understand he wasn’t always comfortable staying for our entire preschool class.   Callnan loves his Mom and Dad and sometimes just had a real need to join them upstairs in Mass.

It hurt to see him waving from a window and not “be” with him.   He asked where I was going and I told him we had to go back to church because Father T was waiting for us.   He just stood there for a few seconds before saying “ Oh then bye”.

Oh how I miss my littles.  I miss there hugs.  I miss not knowing who is sitting in my lap.   I miss the cry of “ I have to pee” followed by rampant “Me toos”     I simply miss my time with them when all was innocent, where God just simply loves how great we are, where the world works with a smile and a hug.

I can’t wait to be back there, no matter how long it takes.   I am one of the huggers waiting to be able to hug.
