Grab My Hand
Today Joe, Eric and I went to get flu shots. I made and appointment and we showed up to WalMart to a queue out front. I let Eric out to hold a place in line. Joe was very confused as to get out or stay. I told him to put his mask on while I parked.
It’s times like this I see how the disease, this beast, has taken over. He was completely overwhelmed. He started to follow me at the smallest pace. I told him to hold my hand and he just stopped and looked at me. He did hold my hand and we entered the store. He wanted to know why Eric was so far ahead. He tried to look at what we passed as we moved slowly.
We made it to the pharmacy and waited our turn. He needed help rolling up his sleeve and he forgot his birthday. Yet at the end he greeted the pharmacist by name and said “Nice to see you”. I never know what he will remember.
