Garden Build Day 5

Garden Build Day 5

I thought I hurt after a day of shoveling and spreading stonedust, it doesn’t compare to polymer sand!

Our first day was all about digging, spreading and leveling the stone dust.  Today became about pouring and spreading polymer sand between every brick and paver we have set.   It was an extremely tedious and painful job.

We went an hour and a half over our quit time to get the sand in.  Some teens sang, some had conversation, some said it was the most tedious work they have ever done.   But done it is.

Today wasn’t a day of check out the changes.   The changes were small but necessary to keep what we have been working towards a reality.   We don’t want to leave and have it all  fall apart a week, month, year later.

Today also brought struggle. Two teens faced adult situations. Both involved abuse, one by a boyfriend and one by a parent. Both situations involved the need for outside help from the proper authorities. It is heartbreaking to see these who are so young dealing with such adult issues. But for both teens they carried the situation with inner strength and a need for justice.

So back to the good, we had an amazing dinner of Greek food.   Our teens lead the Rosary and were there for the end of Adoration.   We were then joined by Greek dancers from a neighboring church who first demonstrated then taught us traditional Greek dance.    They stayed with us through reflection and prayer and that was amazing.
God us good, all the time.  And all the time, God is good.
