What keeps you going?

This week on the radio the question asked was “What keeps you young?” That’s an easy one. My church kids. Not only do they keep me young, they make me laugh and bring me joy.

Sometimes we have events and I hear my names being called from all around me. I have joked I may change my name. I have never heard “Steve” yelled at a church project. But regardless, no matter the project we have fun.

There are things that come out of mouths that I simply tip my head and realize not all circuits have connected yet. There are times what they say is just so incredibly funny or innocent or joking.

Today we stood out in the rain for five hours at our Recycling Event. These kids laughed, ran from car to car, teased each other, teased me, and worked hard. And they keep me young. I’m the midst of the struggles of life, they bring me joy.
