Vacation

Vacation

For so long I have been thinking of vacation. You know the time we stop, go somewhere, do something we don’t usually have time for.
I would like nothing more to go to Ogunquit by myself right now. I want to walk on the beach, sit and watch the waves, meander Marginal Way and just let my mind rest.

It was one of the favorites Joe and I had. We would sneak off when the kids were in school. As soon as they were on the bus, we pulled out of the driveway and were on our way. We walked miles on the beach. We talked. We dreamed. We dealt with the trials of the day. We satin the sun and ate lunch. We walked more. We walked through the waves then finally headed home to meet the kids and deal with life. We thought we had so much more of this.

For some reason tonight I am thinking also of our summers when we rented a cabin in Twin Mountain NH. Each of the kids brought a friend. We hiked the mountains, played in the waterfalls, rode the current in the river, drank tea and watched the sun come up, had campfires with so many smores.

There have been so many good times. I anxiously await them again. #vacation #earlyonsetalz #alz #caregivers #faith #catholic
