Papa
Soon after I met Joe, I learned about his dads bypass. It had been two years before we met and it was major. For me at the time, I didn’t understand the magnitude of it.
As the years passed I became more and more grateful that Papa had made it through. He was one of the most amazing men I have ever met. He was a man of true love and compassion. His family was his everything. One night after Sunday dinner he sat with his sons talking. Liz went to him, lifted his arm and cuddled in. Without a beat in the conversation he lifted her up, wrapped her in and kept talking with his boys. That night left a strong impression on me. One that had never left me.
Joe is leaving us in a little at Papa didn’t. But it means so much to me that my sons in law know they essence of him. James knows him best of all. But they know his essence and I pray they pass that along to his grandchildren
