I'm praying for you

How much stronger words than “I’m praying for you”. I have heard them recently and the more I hear them, the more blessed and overwhelmed I feel.

Today I took a phone call to hear “How are you? How is everyone? How is the E family? We are praying for you all”.

There have been times in my life that “We are praying for you” has seemed like the normal “I’m so sorry” response. Then there are the times that”I’m praying” are the most powerful and humbling words you can hear.

Since working in and for the church I have realized the ultimate power of community. I am humbled and grateful for the prayers said for me and my family. I am awestruck at the power of a community that stands with you.

In my job I do not make the money I could in my trained profession. But as I heard this weekend this job brings “ Retirement benefits that are out of this world”. Not to mention the family, friendship, laughter and joy I get in this world. I am blessed.
